In the Matter of the Estate
of
Christina E. Haffa, deceased
Petition for Administration
At this day comes John Haffa Jr, and presents to the Court his petition filed herein and sworn to, showing that Christina E. Haffa late of the County of White and State of Illinois departed this life on or about the 29th day of August A.D. 1884 intestate, leaving real estate estimated to be worth about $900; that she owed debts amounting to about $150; that petitioner is the husband of deceased, and he prays that Letters of Administration may be granted to Jacob Maurer as Administrator of said Estate. And now the Court having fully considered said petition and being sufficiently advised, it is ordered that the said Jacob Maurer be and he is hereby appointed Administrator of the Estate of the said Christina E. Haffa, deceased; and that the Clerk of this Court issue Letters of Administration to him as such Administrator; provided, that that the said Jacob Maurer shall first enter into bond as such Administrator in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars conditioned as the law requires with sureties to be approved by this Court; and also shall take the oath prescribed by law. And now comes the said Jacob Maurer and presents to the Court his bond as required with Jacob C. Ziegler and George C. Ziegler as sureties, and also now before the Clerk of this Court takes and subscribes said oath as required. And the Court having examined said bond and being sufficiently advised, it is ordered that said bond be received, approved and and recorded and that said Letters of Administration issue as aforesaid.

Adjustment
At this day comes Jacob Maurer, Administrator of the Estate of Christina E. Haffa, deceased, and shows to the Court that he has given due and legal notice of his intention to appear before this Court on to-day for the purpose of adjusting claims against said Estate. And the Court being sufficiently advised from the proofs, it is ordered that all claims now presented and properly proven be now adjusted. Whereupon the following claims are presented. And said claims being proven to the satisfaction of the Court and of said Administrator it is ordered that the same be allowed against said Estate as follows,
T. Gaston & Anderson the sum of $41.00 as of 1st Class Claim
Thomas S. Ary the sum of $20.50 as of 1st Class Claim
Kokal[?] Winnier the sum of $26.25 as of 7th Class Claim
Phil J. Felker the sum of $6.50 as of 7th Class Claim
S. M. Woodrow the sum of $12.74 as of 7th Class Claim
And a claim being presented against said Estate in favor of Philip Weiskopf and the Court having heard the evidence, it is ordered that said claim be rejected.

Claim
At this day comes the claimant by Allen Bleakley, Esq., her attorney, and also comes Jacob Maurer Administrator of the Estate of Christina E. Haffa, deceased by Nathaniel Holderby, Esq., his attorney, and also comes Christina Guggolz, John Bauchman, Lewis Bauchman and Madaline Bauchman the legal heirs of said deceased by P. A. Pearce, Esq., and enter their plea of Infancy herein. And now issue being joined, on motion, it is ordered that a jury be called and by agreement this cause is to be tried by a jury of six men. Whereupon come the jurors of a jury to wit Thomas K. Wilson, John Mills, G. W. Clark, George Wheatcroft John Pfister and James Gates six good and lawful men who are regularly empaneled and sworn to try the issue joined herein. And now the parties produce their witnesses who are sworn and examined; and the Court having instructed the jury, said Plaintiff comes and on her motion leave is given Plaintiff to withdraw the notes filed herein. And it is ordered that the cause be dismissed at Plaintiff's costs and that Defendants have judgment for their costs, and Executor may issue therefor.

Robert D. McCracken
Petition for Citation
At this day comes Jacob Maurer, Administrator of the Estate of Elizabeth Haffa, deceased, and presents to the Court his Petition filed herein and sworn to, showing that he believes one Robert D. McCracken has in his possession one certain Piano, the goods and chattels of the said Elizabeth Haffa, deceased, which he the said Robert D. McCracken refuses to deliver up to said affiant as such Administrator: and he prays the Court for a Citation for said Robert D. McCracken to show cause why he should retain possession of said property. And the Court having heard and considered said Petition and being sufficiently advised, it is ordered that a Citation issue for said Robert D. McCracken to appear before this Court at the April term next and show cause if any he may have, why he retains said piano in his possession and refuses to deliver the same to said Administrator; and this cause is continued.

Citation
At this day this cause coming on for hearing, now comes the defendant Robert D. McCracken and also comes the complainant Jacob Maurer, Administrator of the Estate of Elizabeth Haffa, deceased. And the Court having heard the testimony of the witnesses produced sworn and examined in open Court, in consideration thereof, the Court doth find the right of property in the Defendant Robert D. McCracken, it is therefore ordered that he be discharged without cost.
