Mrs. Ellanora B. Maurer

Mrs. Ellanora B. Maurer, 79, a resident of 816 N. Fifth Street in Carmi, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday at Carmi Township Hospital.

She was born May 25, 1898 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and was married July 10, 1964 in St. Louis, Mo. to Homer Maurer, who survives. She had lived in Carmi since March 1976 and was a member of the United Emmanuel Methodist Church.

Other survivors include one son, Donald Holliday of Effingham; two step-sons, Homer Maurer Jr. and James Edward Maurer, both of Collinsville; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Ann Wirtel of Branson, Mo.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jessie Mitchell of Collinsville; twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Ellanora B. Maurer will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Doane officiating.

Easter Star Memorial services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home and friends may call from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
