Death Comes to Jasper Sturm, Age 79
Death came Monday to Jasper Sturm of Carmi at 8:30 p.m. while a patient in the Anna State Hospital. A retired farmer of Emma Township he and his wife had been making their home at the White County Nursing Home until he was hospitalized at Anna in June of this year.
Born August 6, 1875 in Posey County, Indiana he was 79 years of age.
For a number of years he was a General Baptist Minister his last pastoral being the Braden's Valley General Baptist Church in Hamilton County.
Funeral services will be conducted from the East Side Baptist Mission, Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Bailey officiating. Burial will be made in the Kuykendall Cemetery with the Kittinger Funeral Home in charge. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until time for the services.
Surviving relatives include his wife Louella at the White County Nursing Home, two sons, Randolph and William R. of Carmi; one daughter, Mrs. Irene Allbright of Dudley, Missouri; one brother, John Sturm of Indianapolis, Indiana and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Saltman of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Mrs. Josie Sewell of Mattoon, Ill., Mrs. Mary Lauderdale of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Services Conducted for Jasper Sturm
Funeral services for Jasper Sturm were held Friday, 2:00 p.m. at the East Side Baptist Church, Rev. Harold Bailey officiating; interment was made in Kuykendall Cemetery, with the Kittinger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers Russell Allison, LaVerne Pretzsch, Henry Brang, Fred Pretzsch, Robert Chastain and Edward Pretzsch. Floral bearers were Lynda Thomas, Darlene Daniels, Sue Allison, Betty Shelton and Patricia Browning.
Jasper Sturm, age 79, resident of Emma Township for a number of years and of late in Enfield passed away Monday night at the Anna Hospital, where he was taken in June from the White County Nursing Home.
Surviving is his wife, Louella, now at the Nursing Home; two sons, Randolph and William R. of Carmi; one daughter, Mrs. Irene Allbright of Dudley, Mo.; one brother, John Sturm of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Saltsman of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Mrs. Josie Sewell of Mattoon, Ill. and Mrs. Mary Lauderdale of Indianapolis.
