Lawrence E. Sturm Dies At Home Here
After an illness of five weeks, Lawrence Edward Sturm, 41, died at his home on Second Street Saturday, July 17. Sturm was an employee of the Big Four Railroad.
Funeral services were held at the Carmi Pentecostal Church at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, with the Rev. W. W. Bratton officiating. Burial was in the Kuykendall Cemetery, with the Walton & Stein Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Otto Lichtenberger, Normal Peck, Nicholas Cozart, John Mobley, Jerome Russell and Luther King. Flower bearers were Ina Sturm, Anna Piland, Tina Sturm, Lena Sturm, Mary Maurer and Mrs. Harold Sturm.
Sturm was born February 15, 1902, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Sturm. He was married May 23, 1931, to Miss Jessie Koontz.
Survivors are the widow, three children, Ella May, Betty Joyce and Jessie Marie; his mother; five brothers, Arthur, of Flat Rock; Benjamin, of Crossville; John, of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; Harvey, of Crossville, and Lonie, of Hutsonville, and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Loot, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., and Mrs. Lavinia Hallam, of Crossville.
