Carmi Man Stricken At Church
William R. Sturm, 68-year-old resident of Beck Street in Carmi, was stricken suddenly while attending services at the Stewart Street Chapel Sunday and was pronounced dead on arrival at Carmi Township Hospital shortly before noon.
Mr. Sturm had suffered from a heart ailment since 1952.
Before illness forced his retirement, he had been employed as a school custodian.
He was born January 10, 1900 in White County, the son of Jasper and Mary Calvin Sturm.
Survivors include his widow, Dorothy; two daughters, Mrs. Carmillo Ricevuto, Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Charles Yeager, Wilmington, N. C.; a brother, Randolph Sturm, address unknown; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home, where friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Kittinger-Fair Chapel, and burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
