Conrad Ziegler

Conrad Ziegler, Jr. was born in this county in 1845, and is a son of Conrad Ziegler, an old settler of this county, now residing on his farm in Section 10.

Mr. Ziegler remained at home with his parents until about thirteen years ago, when he moved to his present farm in Section 2, Carmi township.

In 1881 he was married to Sophia Couteman, daughter of Andrew Conteman, an old settler of the county. Mr. and Mrs. Ziegler are the parents of six interesting children.

On account of the pressure of farm work and remoteness from school privileges, Mr. Ziegler had but limited school advantages, but experience has been a stern teacher and with his natural business ability, Mr. Ziegler is a very intelligent and successful man. His tme is given to farming and stock raising. He is a member of the Evangelical church.
